C3 Go Kart Project! Chevrolet Corvette

If you search online, you’ll find that a lot of go-karts have been built over the years with a fiberglass Corvette-like body. One of them was produced by an Arizona company named F.W. & Associates that looks like a C3 (1968-82) Corvette with a Briggs & Stratton engine. This one is a bit beat up, but we’re told it runs. Located in Cordova, Tennessee, this pint-size project is available here on eBay for $1,299 (or you can make an offer).

Not much information is out there about FW&A or their products. But from the photos you’ll find, the seller’s go-kart looks just like one they built with the engine poking out of the fiberglass offset behind the driver’s seat, These things were usually built for use by children but also as promotional vehicles (Chevrolet did that to promote the C2 Corvettes).

We’re told the Briggs & Stratton lawn mower-type motor in this go-kart has an output of three horsepower but needs to be rebuilt. The kart may be complete except for a front bar that holds up the red fiberglass body that has been temporarily replaced by a wooden block. Restoring this little “car” shouldn’t require a huge effort and might be a great showpiece if you happen to own a go-kart track.

Though no photos are provided, the seller says he/she also has a C4 Corvette “pace car” go-kart painted in yellow that can be had for extra coin. It comes with a new motor that was never installed.

Looks like an easy little project (father/son) that would make a great introduction for a kid into the world of mechanics.
